Lotus Rising LA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to helping vulnerable communities in Los Angeles rebuild after disasters.

Moved to action by the 2025 wildfires, we focus on sustainable prefab housing education, direct rebuilding assistance, and community-driven recovery efforts to ensure families can stay in the places they’ve always called home.

who does Lotus Rising LA help?

We primarily help families who have lost their homes due to disasters, especially those who are underinsured, from generational homes, or facing financial barriers to rebuilding. Our goal is to make sure no one is forced to leave their community because they can’t afford to rebuild.

what types of rebuilding assistance do you provide?

Our approach includes three core programs designed to help families rebuild after wildfire—faster, smarter, and with dignity:

• Rebuild Ready:
  Focused on helping families understand and access alternative paths to rebuilding through prefab education and partnerships. For those who are underinsured or priced out of traditional construction, this program opens up more realistic ways to move forward.

• House to Home:
  Supports families after they’ve secured housing with essential furnishings and everyday needs. Through our partnership with A Sense of Home, along with Lil’ Lotus Kits that provide gas and grocery support, this program helps make the transition back into a home feel more stable and manageable.

• The Village:
  A trusted network of local support for families who don’t know where to start or have fallen through the cracks. It connects them with architects, builders, designers, and mental health professionals, and includes Community Voices, where survivors share their experiences to help others feel less alone in the process.

No – while the 2025 wildfires began our work, we are committed to helping Los Angeles communities recover from future disasters as well. Our long-term mission is to create sustainable rebuilding solutions that can be deployed whenever disaster strikes.

what makes prefab housing a good rebuilding solution?

Prefab homes are built off-site and assembled quickly, making them a faster, more affordable, and more sustainable alternative to traditional rebuilding. They also allow families to return home sooner, reducing the risk of displacement.
