Altadena Community Bike Ride

Altadena Community
Bike Ride recap

On Sunday, October 26, more than 30 neighbors, families, and cyclists gathered at Loma Alta Park for Sun & Spokes: Altadena Ride for Recovery, a free 10-mile community bike ride organized by Lotus Rising LA in partnership with Councilwoman Dorothy “Dot” Wong and the Altadena Bicycle Club, as well as Around the Cycle.

Riders pedaled through historic streets and local landmarks, sharing stories of resilience and connection nearly a year after the wildfires, and together raised over $1,500 to support Lotus Rising LA’s wildfire recovery programs.

After the ride, the group refueled and laughed over lunch at Prime Pizza, where part of the day’s proceeds supported the cause, and cyclists took home custom keepsakes as reminders of the morning’s fellowship and forward movement.

Description:

Take a Sunday ride with us through Altadena’s streets and sunshine. This free community ride supports our Community Voices program at Lotus Rising LA, bringing neighbors together while raising awareness for families rebuilding after the wildfires.

Along the way, we’ll pause at local spots that share pieces of Altadena’s history. From neighborhood landmarks to stories that shaped the community, the ride is as much about learning as it is about moving together.

Bring your bike, water, and join us at 9am. We’ll ride together and finish by late morning. As a thank-you, riders who raise $75 or more will receive a Lotus Rising LA handkerchief.

Participation supports our work with wildfire survivors, helping families return home and move forward.

Fundraise for Families – Each rider will receive a link to set up a Givebutter page. Share it with friends and family to raise funds that support survivors.

Every dollar raised helps families return home and move forward. Whether you raise $25 or $250, your effort has an impact.
