EFC Collaboratory Grand Opening: A Moment of Growth & Presence
This week, Lotus Rising joined the grand opening of the Eaton Fire Collaborative (EFC) Collaboratory, held October 7 in Altadena.
The new hub at 540 W. Woodbury Road is designed as a shared space for recovery-focused organizations to learn, listen, and build alongside one another. Guests toured the building, met local partners, and experienced the energy of a community still healing but moving forward together.
Toad Mamas, Belinda & Jacqui, hosted a Lotus Rising resource table, sharing our programs and upcoming events while hearing how families are doing nine months after the fires. Many residents said it felt good to see familiar faces again and to know local groups are still here, showing up for them. The conversations were heartfelt and grounding, and reminded us how powerful it is when the community feels seen and supported.
We were happy to see Anish Saraiya from Altadena Recovery stop by for a visit. We’d interviewed him back in May, and it was grounding to reconnect in person (read the interview here).
Dorothy Wong, Altadena Town Council member, also stopped by. We spoke about our upcoming Altadena History Bike Ride, how it celebrates Altadena’s story of resilience, and how events like this can keep recovery visible and supported months down the line.
If you visited our booth and want to stay in touch, we’d love to hear from you. Reach us at belinda@LotusRisingLA.org or jacqui@LotusRisingLA.org.
Here’s to more spaces like the Collaboratory, where community, healing, and action grow side by side.
